Today's Reading
Ps. 68:29-30, 33-35, 35-36

Today we have our final selection from Psalm 68. Its refrain persists: “Sing to God, O kingdoms of the earth.”

The Lord calls us to sing. Singing to the Lord is a part of our vocation to be God’s people--a musical people, a people of song.

In Psalm 68 God’s word calls us to sing in response to God’s power and strength and majesty, in response to His care for the needy, in response to His care for the crops and the flocks. We are to sing in response to God’s victory over His enemies, over our enemies. There are lots of reasons to sing, lots of ways to sing.

How do I sing to the Lord? Why do I sing to the Lord?
