Ask a Franciscan Ask a Franciscan
Fr. Greg Friedman answers these pastoral questions: Are the words of the prayer the Memorare inconsistent with Catholic teaching about Mary? Is it necessary for already baptized adults to physically attend RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) sessions to become Catholic?

Marriage Moment Marriage Moment
The Catholic Church in the U.S. is making marriage a priority, with a multi-year initiative to support sacramental married life. Here at American Catholic Radio we're doing our part with our weekly "Marriage Moment", featuring Lucia and Ricardo Luzondo. Married for 10 years, they are co-founders of Renovacion Familiar, an effort to renew family life, based in Miami, Florida. They offer workshops, retreats, conferences and concerts in the U. S. and Latin America, to promote the values of Christian marriage and family. Ricardo is a Pediatric Neurologist and Lucia is an attorney. She recently retired from her active law practice to dedicate herself to full-time service in the Church. Lucia and Ricardo are part of the national advisory board of Por Tu Matrimonio, which is the Spanish language component of the bishops' marriage initiative, on the Web at www.portumatrimonio.org. Their topic today is "Competition in Marriage".
