Exploring Our Faith
John Feister's special guests are actors Martin Sheen and his son Emilio Estevez. In his career of over 40 years Martin Sheen has played all types of characters from killers to world leaders. He’s been nominated for the Tony award, for the Emmy award six times, and he received the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in 2001 for his work on The West Wing TV series. Sheen has campaigned against nuclear weapons and for workers’ rights as well as many other causes. Emilio is an actor, director and writer. In recent years he has spent more time behind the camera, directing for television and film. In 2006 Emilio wrote, directed, and produced the film Bobby, a look at the assassination of Robert Kennedy, in which he and Martin appeared. They met with John Feister in California earlier this summer to talk about Emilio’s latest film The Way, in which he again stars with Martin, about a man’s experiences as a pilgrim to Santiago de Compostela.
