Today's Reading
Ps. 7:2-3, 9-10, 11-12

The psalmist is being pursued by evil and prays to God to take care of him. “Save me from my pursuers and rescue me.” The psalmist takes confidence in his innocence and looks on God as his protection and shield.

These words could well be attributed to Jesus as He foresees His suffering and death. They could also be applied to each of us as we reflect on the challenges that beset us in our service of the Lord.

While we may not be innocent of all evil, we can look to God for justice and vindication. God will look after us and be our shield because he saves the upright of heart.

What burdens do I bear? How does God protect and sustain me?
