Today's Reading
Ps. 57:8-9, 10-12

Psalm 57 is a song of exuberant trust.

The psalmist expresses steadfast gratitude and praise. The melody he makes at night with his music will arouse a whole new day to life.

The psalmist’s faithfulness will reach even to the skies and will give God glory stretching above all the earth. His thanksgiving will spread among the nations. His enthusiasm for the Lord will know no bounds.

We are called to share the psalmist’s energy in his relationship with God. There is to be no place in which God is not adored and thanked. From morning to night God’s praise should resound from His faithful ones, from us. Our refrain should be that of the psalmist: “I will give you thanks among the peoples, Lord.”
